It's a Wondrous World for Southport Contemporary Arts

Southport Contemporary Arts’ is holding its annual Spring Open exhibition in the town.

The show, opening tomorrow at the organisation’s ArtHouse gallery in Eastbank Street, has the theme of Wonderous World and features the work of not only Southport Contemporary Arts members but the wider artistic community too.

Among the exhibitors are Serah Stringer Grech, Anna Poholoka and freelance artist and printmaker Mike Goodwin.

SCA co-director Norrie Bewick-Calvert says she hopes the Wondrous World theme will “encourage participants to consider the incredible wonders of nature that they have seen or would love to see."

She adds: “Everyone benefits from engaging with the natural world, and with so much negative energy coming at us from other areas of our lives at the moment, we hope that this exhibition will inspire and uplift everyone.

“As always with our Open Exhibitions, but especially in our 10th year of the ArtHouse Gallery, we’re excited once again to offer this opportunity to an inclusive collection of local artists and display the diverse range of creative practice that will make up this year’s special exhibition.”

Southport Contemporary Arts Spring Open runs from March 15 to April 8. ArtHouse is open from 10am to 3pm, Tuesday to Friday, and 11am to 4pm on Saturdays.
