Alexei Sayle announces Epstein Theatre dates as part of new UK tour

Alexei Sayle is set to perform at the Epstein Theatre as part of his first live stand-up tour for seven years.

The Liverpool-born actor, author and funnyman will bring his new UK tour to Hanover Street from March 12-14 next year.

And demand for tickets has been so great that he's just announced two extra 'home' dates on March 10 and 11. Tickets for the new dates go on sale on Friday, November 15.

The live shows follow the success of the 67-year-old’s Radio 4 show Alexei Sayle’s Imaginary Sandwich Bar.

Along with three nights on home turf, he will also appear for two nights at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre.

Sayle said today: “This tour won’t be another arsehole comic talking about his girlfriend or the funny things his kids do, or the funny things cats do or how he doesn’t understand the internet or bleeding Brexit… This is ALEXEI ****ING SAYLE you’ll be seeing.”

Alexei Sayle was born and brought up in Anfield, the son of Communist Party parents, and studied at the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London before embarking on a teacher training course.

He rose to fame in the alternative comedy world of the early 1980s, becoming MC of London’s Comedy Store and a leading member of the Comic Strip. He also had a top 20 hit in 1984 with ‘Ullo John! Gotta New Motor?

Sayle’s career has also encompassed work on films as diverse as Gorky Park and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, TV documentaries and short stories and two autobiographies – Stalin Ate My Homework and Thatcher Stole My Trousers.

Alexei Sayle is at the Epstein Theatre from March 10-14 2020. Tickets HERE
