The Christians headline special Knowsley gig

The Christians head for Knowsley this Friday to headline a special one-off concert at the Culture and Leisure Park.

The Liverpool band will bring their brand of ‘socially aware soul’ to Knowsley Festival EXTRA.

Friday's event follows a successful Knowsley Music Festival which took place last November to mark the finale of the area’s year as Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture.

The Christians will be supported by Liverpool singer-songwriters Daisy Gill and Paul Crowe, and Motown and Northern Soul-inspired Casino, in this latest celebration of music and musicians from Knowsley and Liverpool City Region.

The gig is brought to Knowsley by BBC Music Introducing presenter Dave Monks and the three support artists have all featured on his BBC Radio Merseyside show.

Monks says: “Knowsley has a rich music heritage but also a thriving present and future, with lots of musicians, songwriters and bands coming out of the borough.

“I was delighted to be approached to curate a show that showcases such a well-established and renowned band alongside up-and-coming acts in a very special gig that I think people will remember for a long time to come.”

Meanwhile Knowsley Council’s Culture Team are working behind the scenes to bring Knowsley Music Festival 2023 back this autumn, for a second year.

Knowsley Music Festival EXTRA takes place at Knowsley Culture and Leisure Park IN Longview Drive this Friday at 6.45pm. Tickets are £11 HERE
