Liverpool Playhouse reveals busy 2024 programme


Liverpool Playhouse is set to present a busy programme of new shows for the city’s theatre-lovers next year.

The Williamson Square theatre has revealed it will play host to a wide range of touring productions, alongside family favourites, comedy nights and special appearances.

They include smash-hit parody musical Unfortunate – the Untold Story of Ursula the Sea Witch, improvised musical Showstopper and a special stage version of cult Channel 4 comedy series Drop the Dead Donkey.

Hanif Kureshi’s poignant The Kite Runner returns to the theatre, while My Beautiful Launderette and the imitating the dog and Leeds Playhouse version of Frankenstein will also entertain Playhouse audiences during the year.

Family-friendly productions include The Tiger That Came to Tea and Tom Fletcher’s There’s a Monster in Your Show.

Meanwhile a series of one-night appearances include comedians Griff Rhys Jones and Babatunde Aleshe, Britain’s Got Talent winner Jon Courteney, poet and playwright Hollie McNish and musicals legend Sir Tim Rice.
