Liverpool to host BBC Radio 6 Music Festival 2019
Liverpool is set to host the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival for the first time.
This year’s festival - the station's flagship live music event - will take place from March 29-31 at locations across the city.
Tickets go on sale this Thursday, February 28 at 10am.
Acts who have been signed up to take part in the three-day event include John Hopkins, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Hot Chip, IDLES, Stealing Sheep, Little Simz and Bill Ryder-Jones.
The Coral, Julian Cope, Craig Charles and Merseybeat legend Roger McGough are also on the bill of the festival which will including live music, DJ sets, a record fair, street food and a programme of ‘in conversations’.
Mark Radcliffe will interview Julian Cope and Amy Lame will chat with Charlotte Gainsbourg, while festival events will also include Making Music in Liverpool with Liz Kershaw and The Story of Cream which features Jayne Casey among others.
Venues which will host events include The Invisible Wind Factory, Camp and Furnace, Eventim Olympia and Mountford Hall.
The festival will be broadcast on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Sounds across the weekend, with radio shows being presented from the Cavern and the Bluecoat among others.
