Disco Classical revealed for LIMF 2019

Sister Sledge with Kathy Sledge will headline a special show on the main stage at this year’s LIMF.

They will front a Disco Classical on Sunday, July 21 which will also feature the 35-piece Manchester Camerata who will play a host of reimagined and reinvented disco hits.

LIMF 2019 takes place in Sefton Park over the weekend of July 20-21. Last year the event attracted 50,000 festivalgoers to South Liverpool.

Disco Classical will close the festival with the help of guest singers and crowd-pleaser DJ Mark Armstrong.

Manchester Camerata performed its Haçienda Classical show at the festival last year.

Denise Harris, founder of Disco Classical, said today: “Liverpool is world famous for its music scene and Disco Classical is extremely excited to be headlining in Sefton Park as part of LIMF. “Disco Classical will bring together an incredible soundtrack with very special guests Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge, and accompanied live on stage by the Manchester Camerata who know how to push the boundaries in classical music. “Added to this the combination of our phenomenal singers, a choir, a band and a renowned DJ – we know we’ll have Sefton Park ‘Lost in Music’!”

The performance forms part of Liverpool’s RISE arts and events season which celebrates inspirational women who have had an impact on the worlds of music, arts, science, business, sport and politics.

Along with Disco Classical, Sefton Park will also play host to Cream Classical – in association with LIMF, which steps out of Liverpool Cathedral and heads for the great outdoors on Friday, July 19. It will feature the 50-piece Kaleidoscope Orchestra and 20 DJs.
