Historian David Olusoga makes St George's Hall date

A House Through Time historian David Olusoga is coming to St George’s Hall to give the first in a new lecture series in the city.

The writer and broadcaster, a graduate of the University of Liverpool, will present St George’s Hall – A History in Time in the Concert Room on March 20.

It is the opening event in a new series of talks at the grade I listed Lime Street landmark which reflect on the special place it holds in Liverpool’s history, and its future.

Claire Dove, chairman of the St George’s Hall Charitable Trust, said: “I’m a huge admirer of the work of Professor David Olusoga and the way he has illuminated forgotten parts of Britain’s history over the years, and like so many, I enjoyed so much the way he brought Liverpool’s history to life in A House Through Time.

“It’s exciting for us to host him at St George’s Hall to kick off our lecture series and I’m sure he will bring the story of our historic building and the people whose life it has touched to life in a captivating address.”

Professor Olusoga was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours and has recently been appointed as a Professor of Public History at The University of Manchester. He also writes for The Guardian and is a columnist for The Observer and BBC History Magazine.
