Christmas in Liverpool's Grade I listed halls

Deck the halls – both of them – with boughs of holly, baubles, and hundreds of lights.

Not to mention two giant toy soldiers straight out of the Nutcracker.

Liverpool’s two magnificent public buildings, the Town Hall and St George’s Hall, have been dressed to impress as they throw their doors open this festive season.

Liverpool Town Hall has beautiful internal decorations in addition to its usual Christmas tree on the balcony, which was officially switched on by Sir Ken Dodd.

The Castle Street landmark is playing host to a very special guest during December, when Father Christmas hosts Story Time With Santa, aimed at youngsters aged 12 and under.

The £12.50 ticket price includes a 45-minute story session, gift and two adults to come with each child. Story Time takes place each weekend and then daily from December 18 to Christmas Eve. Tickets HERE.

Plus there are plans for afternoon teas, and a pop-up hot chocolate bar with decadent creamy drinks made with real chunks of chocolate.

Meanwhile St George’s Hall is hosting a number of seasonal events including A Christmas Jumper Ceilidh on Friday December 1, Christmas Carols in the Concert Room on December 7 and 14, at 2pm and 8pm on each day, and a glittering Snow Ball on December 15-16.
