Liverpool Playhouse date for People, Places & Things

Liverpool favourites Headlong are on their way back to the Playhouse next week with the touring production of the acclaimed West End smash hit People, Places & Things.

Artistic director Jeremy Herrin directs the visceral show, penned by Duncan Macmillan – the writer behind the brilliant 1984 staged here in 2013, and described as an intoxicating new play about surviving in the modern world.

Lisa Dwyer Hogg plays Emma, an actress whose life has spun out of control because of her addiction to drink and drugs in this “vivid portrayal of one woman’s entanglement in addiction, treatment and self-awareness”.

Meanwhile the set is designed by Bunny Christie, the visionary behind shows like A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time and the current West End run of James Graham’s acclaimed Ink.

The Everyman and Playhouse has worked extensively with Headlong over the past few years, including co-productions of The Glass Menagerie and Frank McGuinness’s Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme, while in addition to 1984, previous touring productions which have come to Liverpool include The Absence of War and Pygmalion.
