Liverpool Phil date for Mod musical All or Nothing

Beatles fans have Let It Be. The Kinks’ devotees have Sunny Afternoon. And now another ‘The’ band of the 60s, The Small Faces, is being celebrated in a stage musical heading for Liverpool this week.

All or Nothing is being performed over three nights at the Philharmonic Hall.

Award-winning actress Carol Harrison wrote and directs the show which tells the story of Ronnie Lane, Steve Marriott, Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones, four charismatic kids from East London who became the sharp-dressed musical face of the Mod scene and generated some of the most memorable songs of the decade in to the bargain.

As The Small Faces, they rocketed to stardom with tracks like Tin Soldier, Lazy Sunday, Here Comes the Nice and Itchycoo Park, but discovered in the process a path paved with exploitation, betrayal and ultimately tragedy.

Carol Harrison says: “This is music which influenced a generation of musicians, from Paul Weller and The Jam to Oasis, Blur, The Verve and The Arctic Monkeys, not to mention millions of fans.”
