Unity Theatre announces opening 2021 season show

An interactive audio experience for families will launch the Unity Theatre’s 2021 Open Call season of shows.

The Storm Shepherd comes from Liverpool’s All Things Considered Theatre, in partnership with Alder Hey and the Unity, and will be available to experience at home for five days in April.

The production is aimed at children aged seven and over. Families who book will receive an online audio link along with a storytelling pack which will come in the post.

And alongside that the production will also be premiered at Alder Hey so youngsters who are in hospital can enjoy it too.

All Things Considered creative director Sarah Hogarth says: “Storm Shepherd invites a child and their grown up to switch off their screens and switch on their imaginations as they experience together the magic of the big and little things that matter in life.

“For many of us, the past year has seen us turn our homes into schools as we become our children’s teachers.

“Storm Shepherd addresses this change by inviting audience members to reconnect as parent and child; by creating the world of the Storm Shepherd together and reflecting on their very special relationship.”

Scur is a Storm Shepherd but today something is not quite right. Young adventurers and their families will join Scur on a stormy journey to work out what is wrong and hopefully try to help.

The Storm Shepherd is written by Stuart Crowther and All Things Considered and has been funded through Unity’s Open Call Programme with Arts Council support.

It runs from April 21-25. Tickets and more details on the website HERE
