Threshold Festival reveals line-up for 15th anniversary event

Liverpool’s popular former Threshold Festival is set to hold a special one-off 15th anniversary reunion in the Baltic Triangle next month.
Threshold Was Here, taking place on August 1, will bring together more than 30 acts in one packed programme.
The line-up over three stages and some pop-up sites includes Natalie McCool, Mersey Wylie, Tosin Trio, Helen Maw, Karl McCann, Goeghegan Jackson, The Good Host, Hollows, Def Neon, DJ Rasp, Science of the Lamps and Mixnots among others.
And ahead of its packed musical programme, on the day the festival will open the doors of District on Jordan Street from noon to 1.30pm to all Liverpool creatives for informal round-table discussions on the topic What is the future of grassroots music and arts in Liverpool?
Threshold co-founder Kaya Herstad-Carney says: “We’ve been carefully piecing this final event together and we’re really excited to release this bumper line-up of artists we know and love and some we’re totally new to.
“With the pandemic dampening what would have been our big finisher in 2021, there's been a little urge to put it right. This one is for the Threshold family.”
And husband and fellow co-founder Chris Herstad-Carney adds: “We always had tightly packed line-ups in the past and we we’d always be proud of the fact. Give as many opportunities as we could and hopefully create new fan bases from eager audiences. So, this is a fitting farewell.”
Threshold Festival was founded in 2011 as a grassroots, multi-arts event held each spring and became known for transforming unconventional spaces across the then under-developed Baltic Triangle into immersive creative environments where it blended music, visual art, performance, theatre, installations, talks and community activism.
Over the course of a decade the festival hosted thousands of artists and welcomed tens of thousands of audience members across Liverpool venues including District, 24 Kitchen Street, Hobo Kiosk, Camp & Furnace, Baltic Social (now Arts Bar) and others.
Due to Covid restrictions, the final festival was held in April 2021 as an online event only
