Southport's Atkinson stages the Wizard of Oz this Christmas

The yellow brick road runs to The Atkinson at Southport this Christmas with the venue hosting The Wizard of Oz as its festive treat.

Ray Quinn takes on the titular role in the show which runs until December 31.

He is joined by Claire Simmo as Glinda the Good Witch, Michael Chapman as the Wicked Witch of the West, Chris Barton as the Cowardly Lion, Lewis Pryor as Scarecrow and Tom Burroughs as the Tin Man.

Mia Molloy plays Dorothy.

The show comes from LHK Productions which used to stage the annual panto at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre.

Atkinson audiences are invited to embark on an adventure with Dorothy and Toto as they travel through Munchkin Land to the Emerald City with their new friends to meet the magical Wizard of Oz himself.

Social distancing and Covid safe measures are in place in the theatre and on stage.

Audience members will have their temperatures checked at the door and will be asked to sanitise their hands and wear a mask inside the venue where one-way routes are in place.

The Wizard of Oz is at The Atkinson in Southport until December 31. For further details and ticket availability visit the website HERE
