Smash Hit Technicolor Dreamcoat heading for Liverpool

The smash hit London Palladium production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is on its way to Liverpool with its star cast.

The show, starring Jason Donovan as the Pharaoh, Linzi Hateley as Narrator and Jac Yarrow as Joseph will spend a week at the Liverpool Empire next June.

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s multi award-winning rock musical started life in 1968 as a 15-minute ‘pop cantata’ and was released as a concept album the following year. It has been performed in more than 80 countries worldwide since it had its professional premiere in 1972.

The sung-through show features songs that have gone on to become pop and musical theatre classics, including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door To Me, There’s One More Angel In Heaven and Go, Go, Go Joseph.

Donovan himself played Joseph in the musical’s revival at the London Palladium in 1991, while Hateley was Olivier Award-nominated in the same 1991 production for her performance as the Narrator.

Jac Yarrow meanwhile received an Olivier nomination in 2020 for best actor in a musical for Joseph.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat comes to the Liverpool Empire from June 6-11, 2022. Tickets HERE
