Scouse Sleeping Beauty extends run for second time

Liverpool’s Royal Court has extended the run of its Christmas show for a second time.

The Scouse Sleeping Beauty will now be staged at the Roe Street theatre until January 29.

It was initially due to close on January 15 and was then extended by a week. Now it has been given an extra week on top of that.

Royal Court executive producer Kevin Fearon, who has also written the show, says: “The audience, the press, the cast and the staff have all loved the show this year.

“We know that people have had to change their plans at the last minute quite a few times so hopefully this will give everyone a chance to get in to see the show.”

The Scouse Sleeping Beauty had a delayed opening in November when several members of the cast went down with Covid during tech week. Non-isolating cast members put together a cabaret version and made sure the show went on.

Covid has also struck other cast and creatives during the course of the present run.

Scouse Sleeping Beauty is at the Royal Court until Saturday, January 29. Tickets from the website HERE
