Robin Hood rides to the rescue at Wirral and Liverpool venues this month

Sherwood Forest comes to venues across both sides of the Mersey this month thanks to Wirral’s Off the Ground Theatre.

The company is touring a new production of Robin Hood from August 18-29, including dates in Wales and Lancashire as well as Merseyside.

Tickets are £12 for adults, £10 concessions and £5 for under 21s.

Robin and his Merry band face off against that most famous of old foes, the Sheriff of Nottingham.

In this tale, however, the dastardly Sheriff has teamed up with the fearsome Princess of Aragon, who has arrived in England with designs on the Kingdom itself.

While the Sheriff pursues his relentless vendetta against the outlaw Robin Hood, Robin must get to London in time to save his beloved Maid Marian.

Can he evade the Sheriff? Will he learn of the Princess’s plans and stop her before it is too late?

Expect plenty of laughs and some epic fights in this family-friendly adventure story written by Off The Ground’s Connor Wray.

The tour opens at Queen’s Park in Meols on August 18 and dates include Claremont Farm (August 22), Isla Gladstone Conservatory in Stanley Park (August 24), Birkenhead Priory (August 25), Burton Manor in South Wirral (August 26), two dates at Royden Park on August 28-28 and a final performance at Gordale Garden Centre on August 29.
