RLPO and Bootleg Beatles come together for new shows

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the Bootleg Beatles are reuniting to celebrate the Beatles’ Blue Album.

The orchestra and famous Fab Four tribute will play a special concert at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on July 5.

Tickets for the For You Blue: Celebrating the Beatles’ Greatest Hits 1967-70 show are on sale priced from £36.65-£66.

They will also perform the ‘must-see multimedia show for Beatles fans of all ages’ at the Glasshouse International Centre for Music (formerly Sage) at Gateshead on July 7, and at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on July 8.

The RLPO and Bootlegs previously performed special shows to mark the 50th anniversary of Sgt Pepper in 2017, and joined forces for the And in the End series of concerts to celebrate the golden anniversary of Abbey Road and Let It Be.

The Blue Album, whose official title is 1967-70, was originally released in April 1973 and was a double compilation of 28 highlights of the band’s late career catalogue from their double A-side Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane to The Long and Winding Road.

This summer’s concerts will be conducted by Richard Balcombe.
