Pirate King brings opera fun to Liverpool and Southport

A children’s show that offers a fun-filled introduction to the world of opera is touring over half-term with dates in Liverpool and Southport.

Hurrah for the Pirate King is heading for The Atkinson at Southport on February 18 and the Epstein Theatre on February 27.

Follow the great Pirate King's swashbuckling adventure as he embarks on a magical musical journey to find a treasure beyond gold and jewels.

On his journey, you'll see mysterious creatures from the Queen of Cats, to the beautiful, bedazzling singing Mermaid, but can the Pirate King defeat the evil Colonel Crab and win the legendary Unicorn Diamond?

The show is a co-production between Bill Elms Productions and Absolute Children’s Opera, and the cast includes Roy Locke, Leigh Rhianon Coggins and Craig Price.

Bill Elms said: “This show is fun, it’s silly, and it’s beautifully sung by world-class professional singers. Kids and families will love it - it’s filled with songs everyone knows and can sing along to.”

The tour also includes dates in Wigan, Birmingham, Halifax and Saddleworth.
