Nana Funk makes Unity Theatre date

Nana Funk makes a return to the Liverpool stage this month when her show Tough Old Bird comes to the Unity Theatre for one night only.

The show on January 20 will see the inimitable Nana – alter ego of actor Angie Waller – embark on a heartfelt journey of exploration inspired by real-life stories and experiences.

Tough Old Bird explores how women are viewed in society as they have the absolute gall to get older! Have you ever noticed those adverts promising to ‘defy the effects of aging’? Ooh, Nana hates them.

What about when we get old? Where’s the instruction manual? Who deems what is ‘acceptable behaviour’? What happens when your voice isn’t listened to, or you become slowly invisible?

Join Nana as she asks the big questions. Aging well doesn’t mean behaving yourself.

Nana Funk brings together song, script, improvisation and clowning to create her own versatile and unique style.

The show is written by Waller, directed by Margaret Connell and has original music by Waller and Claire Jones.

Tough Old Bird is at the Unity Theatre on January 20. Tickets HERE
