Making It adds extra dates at Royal Court Studio
Cabaret diva Bev returns to the stage at the Royal Court Studio this spring – and demand for tickets means extra dates have already been added to the run.
Making It, starring Catherine Rice and Andrew Schofield, will be performed from April 20-30 with extra matinee shows on April 22, 27 and 29 – 'making it' 17 performances over 10 days.
In it we find aspiring actress Bev (Rice) backstage at a faded Liverpool social club, preparing for her final ever gig.
While she awaits a life-changing phone call, Bev takes us on a hilarious journey through her rollercoaster of a career, introducing some weird and wonderful characters on the way (all played by Schofield); from cameos on Corrie, Christmas with The Krankies, booze-cruising on the Mersey, and even body-doubling for a monkey – Bev has done it all.
The new comedy two-hander, written by Rice and director Stephen Fletcher and with additional material by Schofield, lifts the lid on the world of showbusiness, shines a spotlight on fame, and asks what 'making it' really means.

Stephen Fletcher says: “We’re delighted these extra shows have been added to the run.
“Tickets have been flying out – it’s good to see people choosing to come back to the theatre in such numbers, I think it shows just how important it is to them.
“The story is about celebrating talent and puts the notion of ‘fame’ in the spotlight. Part stand-up, part Liverpool Fleabag, part two-hander, it’s a warm-hearted story about singer Bev and cabaret club owner Harry, their need for the business and the need for each other.”
Making It is at the Royal Court Studio from April 20-30. Tickets HERE
