Liverpool Playhouse return for Fantastically Great Women

Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World is returning to the Liverpool Playhouse this spring.

The new production was the Williamson Square theatre’s Christmas show – but more than half of its performances were cancelled due to injury and members of the cast coming down with Covid.

Now it's been announced that the fantastic women are on their way back with a second visit, this time from March 25 to April 2.

Everyman and Playhouse chief executive Mark Da Vanzo says: “Our Christmas show underpin the rest of our artistic programme throughout the year, so any loss is challenging.

“We’re grateful for the support from Arts Council England and DCMS and we couldn’t have delivered as many shows as we did without the hard work and dedication of our cast, crew and staff.

“We’re thankful too for the understanding and generosity of our audiences. Many swapped their tickets, kept credit on their accounts or donated.

“We hope those who didn’t get the chance to join us at the Playhouse over Christmas will be pleased to know we’re bringing back Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World in March.”

The ‘kick-aspirational pop musical’, from the producers of SIX, centres on inquisitive schoolgirl Jade who breaks away from her class to take a peek at her local museum’s yet-to-be-opened Gallery of Greatness – where she’s surprised to encounter some original and incredible wonder women from Amelia Earhart to Marie Curie and Rosa Parks.

Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World is at the Liverpool Playhouse from March 25 to April 2. Tickets on sale from tomorrow HERE
