Liverpool Improvisation Festival 2024 dates and shows announced

Liverpool Improvisation Festival returns this April after a successful weekend in 2023.

The three-day event runs from April 19-21 at the Unity Theatre and LJMU.

It will see 13 shows – including five world premieres – being staged at the Unity, with improv troupes performing work through a variety of genre including clowning, comedy, dance, storytelling, theatre and opera.

They include Casino Imrov’s The Children of Captain von Trapp Wish to Say Goodnight; Your Flaws! The Musical, which won the best improv show accolade at last year’s Leicester Comedy Festival, and Derek’s Mojo by Questionable Behaviour.

The festival programme will conclude with Rubbish Shakespeare Company and Wing It Impro’s popular The Incomplete Works of Shakespeare.

This year’s festival will also see a film competition and an additional day on April 21 dedicated to improv workshops.

Individual tickets are £10/£6 concessions for longer performances and £7/£6 for 40-minute shows.

A limited number of advance ‘full access’ tickets, giving entry to all six shows on April 19 or all seven shows on April 20, are available costing £36 and £42 respectively. Meanwhile there are 10 weekend passes on offer for £78 each.
