Liverpool date for Gareth Malone's new Sing-Along tour

There’s a chance to Sing-Along-A-Gareth when choirmaster Gareth Malone brings his new tour to Liverpool this autumn.

Tickets for the November 5 show at the Philharmonic Hall go on general sale this Friday, July 8.

The audience will get to enjoy an evening of songs Malone has sung on TV over the last 15 years, and many of the tracks that were performed by him along with the Great British Home Chorus - which saw thousands of people around the country sing with Malone from their kitchens, bedrooms and living rooms during the pandemic.

They include Katrina and the Waves’ Walking on Sunshine, Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, Stand By Me by Ben E King and Duran Duran’s Ordinary World.

There will also be a medley of party songs especially created by the 46-year-old BAFTA winning broadcaster who will be on stage with a four-piece band, four singers and a choir local to Liverpool.

Audience members will be able to down load the song list in advance to practice.

Malone, who plays piano, guitar and bass, will create songs on the spot and helps the audience to write their own songs, discovering some hidden talent along the way.

Malone, whose four times great-grandfather was the celebrated Liverpool showman Dan Lowery, said: "I can’t wait to get out on the road and sing with people this autumn.

“Wherever I go, people are so excited about being able to listen to live music and to enjoy singing once again. This is going to feel like a real party."
