Liverpool Cathedral will be the grand stage for a special performance of Handel’s Messiah this autumn.

The epic event, which alternates annually between the cathedral and Metropolitan Cathedral, will take place on Saturday, October 3.

Choirs from both places of worship will be joined by the Liverpool Mozart Orchestra in the performance which will be conducted by Liverpool Cathedral director of music Stephen Mannings and with Ian Wells on the organ.

Soloists are due to include Danielle Thomas, Barbara Ruzsics and Damian O’Keeffe.

The Very Rev Dr Sue Jones, Dean of Liverpool Cathedral, said: “Handel’s Messiah, which alternates annually between ourselves at Liverpool Cathedral and the Metropolitan Cathedral, is one of the true masterpieces in the choral repertoire. I’m pleased to welcome all who will visit the cathedral for what promises to be a magnificent performance.”

Handel’s Messiah is at Liverpool Cathedral on October 3 at 7pm. Tickets, including general admission or premium seating, are available HERE
