Addams Family heading for Liverpool Empire with cast confirmed

Samantha Womack and Cameron Blakely have been confirmed to head the cast when the musical comedy version of cult classic The Addams Family comes to the Liverpool Empire this autumn.

Womack will play Morticia and Blakely is Gomez in the production which visits the Lime Street theatre from October 19-23.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and has a shocking secret that only Gomez knows; she’s fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family.

Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia.

Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

All the usual clan are present - Uncle Fester, Lurch, Pugsley et al.

Kingsley Morton plays Wednesday Addams and the cast also includes Scott Paige Dickon Gough as Lurch.

The musical was originally due to be staged in summer 2020 and then February this year, but its run has now been postponed to autumn 2021 because of ongoing pandemic restrictions.
