St Helens Theatre Royal launches membership scheme

St Helens Theatre Royal has launched a new members scheme to help support it through the continuing coronavirus lockdown.

The theatre has been closed since March and has lost 95 percent of its income, including having to cancel its Easter pantomime. It is currently meeting ongoing bills through its reserves.

The ‘Royal Family’ membership initiative will give those who sign up a series of special benefits when they visit the venue.

And anyone who joins the annual scheme during 2020 will see their first year’s membership extended to the end of 2021.

The annual fee is £35 and benefits include discounts on shows produced by Regal Entertainments Ltd, 10 per cent off drinks and confectionary, priority booking for some shows, free ticket exchanges, free programmes for Regal Entertainments productions when attending twice a year, discounted tickets on other productions around the region and exclusive local restaurant and business offers.

St Helens Theatre Royal manager Chantelle Nolan said today: “These are very difficult times not only for St Helens Theatre Royal but for the industry as a whole. We’ve always talked about launching a membership scheme for the theatre as now is the perfect time.

“We hope that by our loyal attenders supporting their venue and allow us to stay open, we will reward our Royal Family members with some great benefits, not only at the theatre but also across the region.

“We will be back. We will be back stronger than before. We don’t yet know when that will be. We will continually monitor the situation regarding coronavirus and follow the advice and guidelines from the Government’s experts and public health agencies.

“The health of our audiences, staff and performers is our top priority. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the theatre when we are able.”
