Everyman and Playhouse posts its first love letter to Liverpool
The Everyman and Playhouse is delivering the first missive in its new online programme Love, Liverpool: An A to Z of Hope.
Liverpool-based disabled writer Mandy Redvers-Rowe has penned a Love Letter to Merseyrail which takes listeners on a journey along side her and her sometimes naughty guide dog Sally.
The ‘letter’ is read by Chloe Phillips.
Meanwhile author and screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce has stories to share of his time in the Everyman Youth Theatre as part of a 'picnic' offering.
And people can also dip in and out to hear tales from Liverpudlians including Dan Thompson, Freya Hannan-Mills, Sam Batley and Julie Culter.
Each is a story in its own right. And together they paint what Everyman and Playhouse organisers call “a beautiful picture of our city”. They have been drawn from submissions sent in after a call out for people to share their stories of special places across the city region.
Everyman and Playhouse artistic director Gemma Bodinetz, who has directed Chloe Phillips in Redvers-Rowe’s piece, said: “The response to our Love, Liverpool digital project has been overwhelming and a real source of hope and joy to those of us working on it.”
