Les Dennis joins cast of YNWA at Royal Court Liverpool

Les Dennis is set to return to the Royal Court stage this spring as the theatre celebrates the history and successes of Liverpool FC.

Reds fan Dennis will join the cast of YNWA – Let’s Talk About Six...Baby after previously starring in Miracle of Great Homer Street, Down the Dock Road, and his own one man show Jigsy at the Roe Street Art Deco theatre.

He will perform alongside Jake Abraham, Jamie Clarke, Lindzi German, Daniel Ross and Lenny Wood, who are all reprising their roles in Nicky Allt's hit show, and actor/musicians Jack Alexander, Matt Connor, Ben Gladwin and Adam Keast.

Howard Gray directs.

And with last season’s Champions League victory and Liverpool poised to win the 2019-20 Premiership title, it’s an ideal time for Allt’s crowdpleaser which in previous permutations had hit runs in 2011 and again in 2014 when it also toured to Dublin, Belfast and the then ECHO arena.

Allt, who was given complete access to the LFC archive, has brought together every major incident in the club’s 125-year history in a story that ranges from Elisha Scott to Steven Gerrard and beyond, and promises to make its audience laugh, cry and cheer out loud.

The writer, whose new comedy Lost in Colomendy is currently entertaining Royal Court audiences, said: “After bringing home number six, when Jurgen Klopp's side won the biggest trophy of the lot in Madrid, we decided that we had to bring the show telling the Liverpool FC story right back to the Royal Court. A homecoming of sorts.

“With new stories and new legends coming at us thick and fast under the big German we had to get our boots on. We’ve added in trips to Roma, Kiev and marvellous Madrid, some stories about, Bobby, Mane and Mo.”

YNWA – Let’s Talk About Six...Baby is at Royal Court Liverpool from April 24 to May 23. Tickets HERE
