Falling Doors brings dystopian drama to Hope Street Theatre

Falling Doors Theatre Company revisits Hope Street this month, with a new dystopian comedy thriller which explores themes of grief and loss.

There’s a Dead Body in My Baby’s Sandpit runs at the Hope Street Theatre from February 26-29.

Linda, Brian and their daughter Nelly move to a new neighbourhood where life seems perfect. But one day, while she’s hanging out the washing, Linda spots something in Nelly’s sandpit. And it has fingernails.

The young family’s world may appear to be perfect, but when it starts to crumble around them we discover everything isn’t as it seems on the surface.

The play, directed by Sarah Van Parys and with music by composer Ben Murray, has been devised by the whole company and is Falling Doors’ fifth full-length production since it was formed five years ago.

One of those, a production of Jennifer Haley’s The Nether, received four-star reviews when it was staged at Hope Street in 2018 and is due to tour later this year.
