Josie Lawrence joins cast for Liverpool Everyman world premiere

Actress and comedian Josie Lawrence is joining the cast of Our Lady of Blundellsands which gets its premiere at the Liverpool Everyman next spring.

Lawrence will play Sylvie in playwright Jonathan Harvey’s new work.

The character is a facing beauty who retreats in to her own fantasy world as real life becomes too challenging, and the story centres around Sylvie’s life as she moves between the real world and imagination.

Lawrence, who found fame on TV improv show Whose Line is it Anyway?, is the final cast member to be announced and joins fellow EastEnder Annette Badland – who plays Sylvie’s sister Garnet, Tony Maudsley, Nathan McMullen, Gemma Brodrick, and Olivier Award winner Matt Henry.

She said: “Jonathan Harvey is such a wonderful writer and just reading this new play was an absolute joy – it’s funny and incredibly moving in equal measure.

“I’m really looking forward to working at the Everyman with the rest of the team and bringing these amazing characters to life for the first time.”

The production is directed by Nick Bagnall.

Our Lady of Blundellsands is at the Liverpool Everyman from March 6-28. Tickets HERE
