Stormzy reveals Liverpool arena tour date

Rapper Stormzy is set to bring his H.I.T.H. world tour to Liverpool in 2020 – and tickets go on sale this week.

The multi award-winning 26-year-old will play the M&S Bank Arena on September 13 as part of a 55-date tour which takes in Europe, Asia, North America, Australasia and Africa, including a date in his homeland Ghana.

Tickets for the Liverpool show cost between £40.40 and £54 and go on sale at 9am this Friday, December 6.

The news comes on the heels of the singer-songwriter announcing his hotly-anticipated new album Heavy Is The Head, due to be released this month, and a new single Own It featuring Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy, as well as being named one of TIME Magazine’s ten ‘Next Generation Leaders’.

Stormzy, born Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr in Croydon, South London, started rapping aged 11, and after making a name for himself on the underground music scene he released his debut EP Dreamers Disease in 2014.

Over the last five years he has won almost 30 top music accolades including Brit, MOBO, MTV Europe Music and Q Awards as well as an Ivor Novello for his debut album Gang Signs & Prayer.

Meanwhile he became the first British rapper to headline Glastonbury when he appeared on the Pyramid stage this year.
