Come to the Cabaret at Chester Storyhouse

Weimar Republic Berlin comes to Storyhouse next month when Bill Kenwright presents Cabaret at the Chester venue.

John Partridge, Anita Harris and Kara Lily Hayworth star in acclaimed director Rufus Norris’ multi award-winning production of Kander and Ebb’s landmark musical.

It’s at Storyhouse from September 24-28.

This particular revival of the classic musical – which has enjoyed not one but two hit runs in the West End - features Olivier Award-winning choreography from Javier De Frutos, along with striking costumes and scenery and instantly-recognisable songs like Maybe This Time and Money Makes the World Go Round as well as the title number.

It’s 1931, Berlin is a haven of decadence and the legendary Sally Bowles is about to take to the stage at the infamous Kit Kat Klub…but there's a darkness gathering in the wings, and everything is about to change for the young Englishwoman and the people she knows.

EastEnders’ John Partridge plays the enigmatic Kit Kat Klub Emcee, while Anita Harris is the boarding house owner Fraulein Schneider.

Kara Lily Hayworth, who takes on the role of Sally, will be known to audiences in the region for her portrayal of the Scottie Road songbird Cilla Black in Cilla the Musical – a role she won through nationwide open auditions which attracted hundreds of hopefuls.

She says: “I owe a huge amount to Bill Kenwright! Back in 2017 when I first decided to go to the open auditions for Cilla, I had no idea how much my life would change. I’d been working professionally for a long time, but this was a real turning point in my career, and I'm so grateful to Bill for taking a chance on me.

“And now for him to trust me to take on another leading role – my absolute dream role - I feel so unbelievably lucky.”

Cabaret is at Chester Storyhouse from September 24-28. Tickets from the website HERE
