Liverpool Empire date for Everybody's Talking About Jamie

West End smash hit Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is set to stride in to Liverpool as part of its inaugural UK tour.

The award-winning feelgood musical will star Layton Williams - currently strutting his stuff on the London stage – and Shane Richie when it comes to the Empire next June.

Bury-born Williams said today: “I’ve loved my time in the West End but am beyond excited to be playing Jamie on tour. This will be my 6th tour and I can’t wait to come back to some of my favourite venues with this beautiful show.”

On Twitter he added that the Empire was “one of my FAVE UK venues for many reasons.”

Shane Richie said: “I had such a fantastic time playing Hugo/Loco Chanelle in the West End, so when I was offered the chance to be involved in the touring production, I jumped at the opportunity to get back into those heels!

“I believe this show has such an important message for younger and older generations I’m excited to be taking it to a larger audience around the UK.”

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie tells the story of 16-year-old Jamie New who lives on a council estate but doesn’t quite fit in.

Supported by his loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.

The show features songs by Dan Gillespie Sells, lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling, and book and lyrics by writer Tom MacRae.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is at the Liverpool Empire from June 16-20 2020. Details and tickets HERE
