Gladys Knight makes date for Liverpool Echo Arena
Motown legend Gladys Knight is coming to the Echo Arena as part of a UK tour in 2019.
The ‘Empress of Soul’ will appear at the waterfront venue’s Echo Two on July 3. Tickets are now on sale.
Knight, now 74, was born in Georgia and started her career as a teenager in the late 1950s when she appeared with her siblings and cousins in the ‘Pips’, later becoming Gladys Knight and the Pips.
In a career spanning seven decades, Knight has recorded more than 40 albums and her biggest hits include Midnight Train to Georgia, Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me, Take Me In Your Arms and Love Me, and The Way We Were.
She also performed the Bond theme Licence to Kill.
In addition to being an award-winning singer-songwriter, she is also an actress, author, restaurateur and humanitarian.
