The Giants are coming – and today the routes they are going to take around Liverpool and Wirral are being revealed.
Liverpool’s Dream runs from October 4-7, with most of the action taking place between October 5-7.
It is the third and final time Royal de Luxe’s massive marionettes will pay a visit to the banks of the Mersey, and this year they will also make an appearance across the river in New Brighton.
The Giants due to make the trip are yet to be announced, but what is now known is that they will journey a total of 20.6 miles when they get here, attracting hundreds of thousands of spectators.
The main action starts on St George’s Plateau in Liverpool at 10am on Friday, October 5.
Meanwhile another Giant will wake at Fort Perch Rock in New Brighton and will spend the day enjoying the sights and sounds of Wirral.
Saturday will see the Giants in Liverpool – they will all come together in the afternoon and spend the rest of their time in the city together.
Then the spectacular culminates on Sunday with a focus on the waterfront and a parade finale with some promised surprises that are being kept under wraps.
Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for culture, tourism and events, Councillor Wendy Simon, said: “The excitement is certainly building as we unveil more details about what people can expect from this year’s Giant Spectacular.
“The route has been more than two years in the planning and is a delicate balancing act as the team behind the event are always keen for the Giants to explore as many new places as possible, but at the same time logistics come into play and the roads need to be wide enough to accommodate some very large visitors and the hundreds of thousands who flock to see them.
