Rick Astley to play Liverpool Echo Arena on new tour

Rick Astley is set to perform live at the Echo Arena this autumn - and tickets are on sale this week.

Newton-le-Willows most famous son will play at the waterfront venue on November 17, with Gabrielle appearing as support.

Tickets for the hotly-anticipated show are available from this Friday, June 8 at 9.30am.

More than 100,000 people saw Astley perform live last year, and this new tour is in support of his latest album – Beautiful Life – which is due for release on July 20.

The 52-year-old has sold 40 million records during a 30-year career, and his most famous song, the 1987 hit Never Gonna Give You Up, was number one in 25 countries and has more than 140 million streams on Spotify alone.

Astley rose to fame in the late 1980s but retired from the music business in 1993 to raise his family. He made a comeback in 2004, and his career took off again decade ago after being at the heart of the ‘Rickrolling’ internet phenomenon.

He recently made a surprise appearance to sing at Kylie Minogue’s 50th birthday party.

Speaking on Twitter recently he said: “Thank you to everybody who has supported me so far on my journey – I’m having a beautiful life, and I’m hoping you’ve had the chance to dance as well.”

Rick Astley is at the Echo Arena on November 17. Tickets are £32-£53.50 from the website HERE.
