Waterstones Liverpool visit for Jonathan Harvey

Liverpool author, playwright and screenwriter Jonathan Harvey brings his latest book to the city’s Waterstones next week.

The 49-year-old will discuss The Years She Stole on Friday, May 4, and will read from the book alongside Coronation Street actress Sally Lindsay.

The novel, Harvey’s sixth, follows the lives of two women – Rachel and Shirley - born decades apart, whose lives are unexpectedly intertwined, and like some of the writer’s previous books is set in more than one time period.

Harvey says: “I’ve have always been fascinated by stories of babies stolen by women who are feeling desperate. What drives them? Why do they do it? And what is it like for the women whose babies are stolen? What if they can’t bond the with the baby once it is returned to her?

“And what happens to those kids later in life, living with the knowledge they were once ‘kidnapped’…. How do they feel about the person who snatched them? In this book I wanted to explore what it would be like for these two women to meet.

“I’m thrilled to have the actress Sally Lindsay reading from the book with me. I loved working with her on Coronation Street and she has now become one of the country’s best loved actresses."

Jonathan Harvey is at Waterstones in Liverpool ONE on Friday, May 4 at 6.30pm. Tickets are £3.
