Cut loose with Footloose at Royal Court Liverpool

Been working so hard? Then it’s time to cut loose with the stage musical version of that 80s movie classic Footloose.

Selladoor Worldwide, the company founded by two LIPA graduates, is bringing the popular tale set in small town America to the Royal Court this week in a first visit to the Art Deco theatre.

Maureen Nolan stars as Vi Moore, wife of the Rev Shaw Moore, while Gareth Gates is Willard, the lad with two left feet.

Footloose: The Musical tells the story of city boy Ren, who moves to fictional Bomont, a rural backwater in America where dancing and rock music are banned by the community’s elders. But all hell breaks out when Bible-quoting Ren soon has the whole town up on its feet.

The show, based on the film which starred Kevin Bacon as Ren and Liverpool fan John Lithgow as Rev Moore, features a host of classic 80s hits including Almost Paradise, Holding Out for a Hero, the Oscar-nominated Let's Hear it for the Boy and toe-tapping title track.

Footloose is at the Royal Court from October 30 to November 4. Tickets from the website HERE
