Dreamboats and Petticoats at the Liverpool Empire
Dreamboats and Petticoats returns to the Liverpool Empire this week.
Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the writing team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather and The New Statesman among others, penned the stage musical set in the era just before the Beatles changed popular music forever.
It’s 1961, and emotions run high as young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win a national song writing competition – and, more importantly, the attention of the gorgeous Sue
But when Bobby discovers that shy Laura is no slouch on the piano, love and rock ‘n’ roll fame beckons.
Dreamboats and Petticoats features classic tracks from names like Eddie Cochran, Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Liverpool’s Billy Fury and many more.
The show, produced by Bill Kenwright and Laurie Mansfield, was inspired by the hit nostalgic Dreamboats and Petticoats albums.
Dreamboats and Petticoats is at the Liverpool Empire from July 31 to August 5. Tickets from the website HERE.
