Without Walls offers £100,000 Liverpool outdoor events boost

New outdoor festivals and events in Liverpool could receive up to £20,000 in grants through the city’s Without Walls Fund.

Organisations can bid for the grants to help them put on events which encourage people to come back into the city, as well as showcase new talent.

The first phase of Liverpool Without Walls, launched in June 2020, saw £450,000 invested in the hospitality sector to enable trade to continue outside.

That was followed last July when £200,000 was distributed between 50 creative freelancers and businesses who used the funding to bring the city’s streets to life with their cultural projects.

This new Without Walls strand – part of the city’s Comeback Pledge - is worth £100,000 but is not available to any individual or organisation which already receives money from the city council.

Events must take place before the end of March 2022, any Covid-safe guidelines in operation at the time must be followed – and, importantly, any grant must be met by match funding. Only Liverpool-based organisations can apply.

Sports, political and religious events are not eligible

Councillor Harry Doyle, Cabinet Member for Culture and Visitor Economy, said: “I’m delighted another element of the ground-breaking Liverpool Without Walls has launched, breathing life into an events sector that has been so badly impacted as a result of the pandemic.”

The closing date for applications is July 5 at 5pm. For more details and to apply visit the website HERE
