Unity Theatre stages Christmas Festival of events

Liverpool’s Unity Theatre is hosting a festive chocolate box of events in December.

The Hope Place venue’s new Christmas Festival, running from December 4-22, is taking place instead of a traditional Christmas show,

It aims to celebrate the city’s creative community with two-and-a-half weeks of festive music, circus, cabaret, workshops, night markets and family-friendly events.

The seasonal line-up includes a return for Teatro Pomodoro, Nana Funk, 20 Stories High, Sense of Sound and Kitchen Sink Live, along with new events from The Secret Circus and folk band Us Four.

The festival opens on December 4 with a special free Night Market with food, drink, gift stalls, music and crafts.

There will be a chance to take centre stage through the Unity’s open call Liverpool Schools Christmas Shows, the December edition of its Open Mic Night and a series of workshops including Cabaret in a Day.

In Meet Me a Tree, tots aged up to two can enjoy a journey through the four seasons. Meanwhile The Rockin’ Rhinos Christmas Cracker is aimed at a family audience.
