The King's Speech comes to Liverpool Playhouse in 2027

A new stage adaptation of multi-Oscar winning British historical drama The King’s Speech is set to visit Liverpool next summer as part of a UK tour.
The production comes to the Liverpool Playhouse from June 22-26, 2027.
Tickets go on general sale this Tuesday, September 1.
A country on the precipice of another terrible war. An abdicated king. A constitutional crisis. And the only man who can provide hope for the nervous British public is Bertie – a man who is shy, unprepared for monarchy and, worst of all, has a debilitating speech impediment.
With the future of the monarchy, and Britain itself, on the line, an historic radio address looms over a man who can barely stammer through full sentences. Desperate, Bertie and his family turn to an unconventional speech therapist from Australia to turn him into the king Britain can believe in.
As royal protocol meets unorthodox challenges, what emerges is an unlikely but deeply meaningful friendship.
The King’s Speech is presented by the Barn Theatre Cirencester and Tiny Giant Entertainment and is adapted by writer David Seidler from his Oscar-winning screenplay (one of seven Academy Awards the 2010 film took home).
It will be directed by Loveday Ingram with the full cast and creative team yet to be announced.
