Spot Sonia to win Eurovision Final tickets

Eurovision fans are being given the chance to 'spot Sonia' - and be in with a chance of winning a coveted pair of tickets to the grand final this weekend.

The competition takes place tomorrow from 11am, with players aged 18 and over needing to register online by 9am on the day.

Four clues will be released on Visit Liverpool’s social media – one every 90 minutes from 11am – which will lead players to a location where an image of Liverpool Eurovision star Sonia will be waiting.

Seekers have to find each location and take a selfie with the image, posting it on social media and tagging in Visit Liverpool with #SpotSonia, before the next clue is released.

Once all four clues have been completed, players still in the game will be given a final, secret location and the first 10 to arrive there with all their selfies to hand, will be asked to take part in one final task.

The winner will receive a pair of tickets to the sold out grand final on Saturday, May 13.

Players need to register on the Visit Liverpool site HERE by 9am tomorrow, May 12, and post their selfies on Twitter (@VisitLiverpool), Facebook (@VisitLiverpool.com) or Instagram (@visitliverpool_)

Sonia, who came runner up when she represented the UK at the 1993 with her song Better The Devil You Know, said: “When I first heard about Spot Sonia I thought it was brilliant and typically Liverpool; we love to have fun in this city and this surreal game certainly ticks that box and has a great Eurovision feel to it.

“But don’t expect me to be able to give anyone any top tips – the locations are being kept top secret, even from me, so I’ve no idea where my face will be popping up!”

And director of Liverpool Culture, Claire McColgan, added: “I love how there is always one idea or project that people really embrace and it feel like this is definitely one of them during our Eurovision journey.

"Spot Sonia was one of the very early concepts we developed as part of our bid and it has really captured imaginations – the judges loved it, and it’s safe to say it was one of the many things that helped us stand out from other bidding cities.”

Spot Sonia takes place on Friday, May 12. Full terms and conditions from the Visit Liverpool website HERE
