Sefton Park anniversary photo competition launched

The Friends of Sefton Park have launched a photography competition to mark the park’s 150th anniversary this spring.

People are being invited to submit their own photographs taken within the popular South Liverpool green space, with the best three winning cash prizes.

The finalists will also see their snaps printed and framed.

The theme of the competition is ‘Celebrate Sefton Park’ and people can submit up to two shots, taken since January 2020 and which represent Sefton Park and how it’s enjoyed by nature and people.

Entries should be original and high resolution, and submitted with an entrant’s name and age, image title, when the photo was taken and a sentence on what Sefton Park means to you.

Ten finalists’ work will be showcased in the café by the Eros fountain, opening on May 20 – the anniversary that the 235 acre park, which is designated Grade I in the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens, opened in 1872.

The closing date for entries is April 30 at 6pm.
