Luxmuralis promises an angelic Christmas at Liverpool Cathedral

Luxmuralis has returned to Liverpool Cathedral this December to present a new pre-Christmas light and sound spectacular.

The Light Before Christmas: The Angels are Coming! takes place after sunset until December 9.

It takes visitors on an immersive and incredible journey through the Nativity story, where the inside of the cathedral becomes a giant canvas for a host of dazzling light and sound artworks.

Angels guide their way through the twinkling lights, projections and music all inspired by that first Christmas.

The new son et lumière experience follows Space, the Universe and Everything which attracted thousands of visitors in February this year.

Peter Walker, artistic director of Luxmuralis, said: “We’re delighted to return to Liverpool Cathedral with The Light Before Christmas: The Angels Are Coming! which gives visitors of all ages the chance to enjoy the festive season in a modern and artistic way.

“Light and sound artworks depict the remarkable story of how Christmas began, all in the majestic surroundings of Liverpool Cathedral.”

The Dean of Liverpool, the Very Rev Dr Sue Jones, added: “The stunning festive light and sound installation forms a key part of the Christmas celebrations at Liverpool Cathedral, providing a perfect opportunity for different generations to join together for reflection.

"I’m sure visitors will find the experience very moving as we are reminded of the true meaning of Christmas.”

The Light Before Christmas: The Angels are Coming! runs until December 9. Tickets HERE
