West End hit musical comedy Mean Girls is heading to the Liverpool Empire next year as part of its inaugural UK tour.
The award-winning stage version of the 2004 film – penned by 30 Rock star Tina Fey - will visit the Lime Street theatre from October 19-31, 2026.
Tickets go on pre-sale today and on general sale at 10am tomorrow, July 3.
Meet The Plastics – Regina, Gretchen and Karen. They rule North Shore High and will burn anyone who gets in their way.
Home-schooled Cady Heron may think she knows a thing or two about survival of the fittest thanks to her zoologist parents, but high school is a whole new level of savage. When Cady devises a plan to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a queen bee without getting stung.
Empire audiences are promised iconic characters, razor-sharp wit and killer songs.
The production has music by composer and comedian (and Fey’s husband) Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw (Book of Mormon).
Mean Girls had its world premiere in 2017 at the National Theatre in Washington DC in 2017 before transferring to Broadway. Since then, it has also enjoyed two successful US tours.
In 2024, Paramount Pictures released a new twist on the film from comedy genius Fey with what has been described as ‘a fresh and fun re-telling of the story.’
