La Feria returns to Liverpool this October
Liverpool will be alive with the sights and sounds of Latin America when the city’s La Feria Festival takes place next week.
The annual international festival is now in its eighth year, and the 2026 event will be held between October 7-11 at venues across the city.
La Feria is run by Luma Creations and aims to celebrate Latin American arts and cultures with a programme of music, theatre, dance, workshops, crafts, exhibitions and food.
The 2026 festival opens on Wednesday, October 7 with Manuelita at the Unity Theatre. The critically acclaimed one-woman play brings to life the life of Manuela Saenz, 19th Century Ecuadorian revolutionary heroine and trusted partner of Simon Bolivar.
Tamsin Hurtado Clarke performs the piece, a blend of storytelling, physical theatre comedy and movement, and there is live music composed by Columbian guitarist Camilo Menjura.
On October 8 and 9 the festival moves to the Music Room at the Philharmonic Hall.
Award-winning Camila y Silvio breathes new life into Andean genres and folkloric traditions, while the pioneering Chilean duo Peregrinos blend Chilean rhythms with experimental and jazz influences. Catch them both on the same bill on October 8.
Then on October 9, powerhouse Latin big band the Orchestral Mambo International takes to the stage.
Saturday, October 10 sees La Feria take over World Museum for a family day involving live music, dance, storytelling, workshops and activities with the William Brown Street venue’s galleries being transformed into a vibrant celebration of Latin American arts and cultures.
Participants hail from Argentina to Venezuela.
Also on October 10, there is a chance to enjoy a night of global rhythms at District in Jordan Street courtesy of energetic Columbian DJ and producer Killabeatmaker. Also on the bill is rising star Brazilian singer-songwriter Mari Merenda.
And the 2026 festival concludes on Sunday, October 11 with A Taste of Latin America at the Black-E. A free finale, the event will feature Latin American food, live music, DJs, dance, hands-on workshops and creative activities for all ages.
Meanwhile an exhibition of work by Latin American artists, under the title Belonging, is on display during October at the Unity Theatre.
