Jason Donovan is set to return to the Liverpool stage in The Rocky Horror Show.
The Aussie superstar will head the cast of Richard O’Brien’s outrageous cult musical when it comes to the Liverpool Empire next May.
Donovan previously performed the part of transvestite scientist Dr Frank-n-Furter for a limited number of shows when the musical was staged at the Liverpool Playhouse last Christmas.
Join two squeaky clean college kids – Brad and his fiancée Janet whose car, in a twist of fate, breaks down in a storm while on their way to visit their former college professor.
Seeking help at a nearby creepy mansion they meet the charismatic Frank-n-Furter and become embroiled in an adventure they’ll never forget.
Producer Howard Panter says: "We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Jason Donovan back to this musical extravaganza as Frank-n -Furter. Audiences can’t get enough of Jason, who is a natural fit for the role, bringing charisma, wit and an irresistible energy to every performance.
"His return is a true celebration of everything that makes The Rocky Horror Show such a global phenomenon - bold, brilliant, and not to missed.”
The Rocky Horror Show has been seen by more than 35 million people worldwide since it burst on to the scene half-a-century ago, and features cult classic musical numbers including Sweet Transvestite, Dammit Janet, and the pelvic thrusting showstopper the Time Warp.
The Rocky Horror Show is at the Liverpool Empire from May 4-9, 2026. Tickets HERE
