Ian McKellen brings Mother Goose to Liverpool Empire in 2023

Sir Ian McKellen is set to appear in a new panto version of Mother Goose which is coming to the Liverpool Empire in the New Year.

John Bishop will co-star in the production which is being written by Liverpool’s Jonathan Harvey and directed by the award-winning Cal McCrystal (who is currently directing The Scousetrap at the Royal Court).

Mother Goose runs from February 28 to March 4 and tickets go on sale today.

The hilarious and heart-warming production comes to Liverpool on tour after spending Christmas in London.

Mother Goose is an animal sanctuary owner who cares for waifs and strays. She may have a kind heart but will all the wealth and fame lead her astray when she hits the big time?

Expect singing fairies, tap dancing puppets and gravity-defying poultry.
