There’s a chance to enjoy Summer in the City in Liverpool this August with three separate weekends of cultural events.

Liverpool BID Company’s annual Celebrating Castle Street, Celebrating Bold Street and The Last Day of Summer – which takes place along the Liverpool waterfront – aim to showcase what the city has to offer with food, drink, music, artists and entertainment.

Celebrating Castle Street returns next Sunday, August 3, with the thoroughfare which stretches between Derby Square and the Town Hall set to host a series of events and attractions.

The 2025 British Chess Championships take place in Liverpool from July 31 to August 10, and Celebrating Castle Street will include a giant chessboard in the Town Hall for people to try out their best chess moves.

There will also be food and drink offers, three live music spots in the partially pedestrianised street, face painting, stilt walking, a showcase from Batala Mersey, and Silent Disco Tours along with a market in Exchange Flags.

It will be followed on Sunday, August 17 by Celebrating Bold Street which will feature a Makers Market at the Bombed Out Church, while the event along the length of the street will also include stilt walkers, a giant tortoise puppet, face painting, a tie-dye sock workshop, DJs and live music including the Albert Schloss brass band.

Then on Saturday, August 30 The Last Day of Summer takes place in association with the Royal Albert Dock.

A family-friendly health and wellness celebration, the day includes free yoga and Pilates classes at Princes Dock, live music at the Pier Head, artisan market at Mann Island, and a wide range of events at the Royal Albert Dock including traditional games and a nine-hole crazy golf course. The day also features entertainment, WeSwimRun sessions and canoe taster sessions from the Canal and River Trust.

All three events run from 11am to 5pm.
